Description

A stereo 1st press of Beggars Banquet on the UK Decca label. Matrix 2/1. Stampers 1-BI/1-KG. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Please note this copy also exhibits the very first 'patents pending' reference understood to be only found on copies from the time of 1st release. Also included is the original Decca company inner from Autumn-1968.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a number of light marks - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with really good clarity. Interference is light and only occasionally audible. All we could detect was some light static and this is only vaguely audible in a couple of the quieter tracks. A very nice 1st press specimen at an affordable price.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has most certainly been looked after by its original owner. The cover does not seem to have faded like so many other examples. A  couple of minor marks on the front and rear are all that's noticeable. There is edge wear but it is not significant. Most of the text on the spine is still readable. A very nice example of the true 1st issue.
Inner (Ex-) Slight ageing, but no marks or splits.
