Description

An original 1st Issue Mono [the holy grail!] on UK Decca. Matrix 6A/2A. Stampers 1-UD/1-UM. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Also included is the original inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Truly stunning condition and I'd imagine has only seen the very lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out one tiny mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. The audio is top-level as good as any copy I've ever heard. For whatever reason Beggars in Mono just has staggering levels of transparency on a well preserved copy. You can hear every breathe and sigh - every last nuance. Only on a top-copy do the quiet tracks play clean...really clean! Interference is, thankfully, practically non-existent. We detected a couple of crackles in a couple of places [that is literal, not a generalisation] e.g. a slight click in salt of the earth. I would say there is zero chance of going any better than this copy - it really is that good.
Cover (Ex-) In great condition and it nice to see that iconic white cover looking so good front and back. Whilst not mint there are no obtrusive marks just one or two light ones and a couple of age spots [that's all]. The only thing to be clear about is that the bottom right of the front is exhibiting a wave [please see close-up pic]. This wave was created during the manufacturing process - it is not damage - it's been there from 1968! Edge wear is light and the spine, which is often a bit worse for wear by now, is actually fully intact.
Inner (Ex) Little ageing and no splits.
