Description
A 1st pressing from Dec-1964 on the French Decca Lozenge label. Matrix 01/01. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover and the original Decca tracing paper inner sleeve. Importantly the covers were dated to the month of manufacture which makes dating copies quite straightforward. This LP was first released for the Xmas market of 1964 and the date on the rear of the cover '12/64' confirms very straightforwardly that we are dealing with first issue.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb shape and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing feelable or remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. The audio comes across with great clarity and a vibrancy like no other. Interference is minimal - just a bit of light static in a couple of isolated moments. This is a very very nice copy and will deliver a great rendition of these classic tracks.
Cover (Vg+) Very difficult to find in anything other than poor condition. But this copy has survived the years remarkably well. The front is largely unaffected by the usual laminate lift or creasing. The rear does not seem to be afflicted by the usual heavy ageing. Just some light marks and a signature. There is some edge wear apparent, but this is not too heavy apart from one small 1c.m. section on the spine where its worn through. Other than that a very fine specimen of a hard to find original.
Inner (Vg-) These are difficult to find at all let alone in good condition. The original inners were tracing paper thin and are notorious for disintegrating. But this one is still good condition. Just some creasing and rips to the opening area. The bottom seam is entirely intact.
