The Rolling Stones Aftermath US Stereo 1966 London PS 476 Bell Sound VG/NM
Cover: Strong VG. Would be VG++ except for an apparent manufacturing error when applying the artwork slick to the cardboard on the front sleeve. It caused some wrinkling/excess paper as a result. It luckily occurs mostly in a plain black background section of the photograph (see photo).Also, a wrinkle (less severe) in the bottom right hand corner, possibly an related outcome from the aforementioned error. Top spine has multiple scuffs towards its left side along with some (again) excess slick material "bunching up" a little, bottom spine has minimal scuffs, title spine is very nice especially for these artwork slick/cardboard items from the 60s in 2024.Very few issues there.
Standard approximately-1968 color version of London/Parrot inner sleeve included.
Disc: Visually: Near Mint both sides. Side 1- under bright light, very glossy, maybe 3-4 very faint hairline scratches after some searching. Side 2- very glossy, some rub marks for about a 3 inch area, no scratches detected. Cut at Bell Sound NYC (see photo).
Audio: Near Mint both sides. Side 1: From the first needledrop at lead-in groove-area, there is a quick bit of quiet static before the first track "Paint It Black" begins and then another quick one during the guitar intro. Both are at a noise level of 0.5 out of 10 (10 being the worst).
The 3rd cut "Lady Jane" has 2 quiet ticks during the acoustic intro (one in each channel).
In between that cut and the 4th cut "Under My Thumb", there are 2 quiet ticks and then 2 lower frequency (but not bass level)ticks (like soft bumps) before "Under My Thumb" begins.
There is silence in between "Under My Thumb" and the next track "Doncha Bother Me".
At the fade out of "Doncha Bother Me" there is one quiet tick.
Noise level for the entire side is 0.5 out of 10-with the volume way up for grading purposes.
So, having listed every anomaly possible for Side 1,I'd call it Near Mint.
Side 2: From the first needledrop at the dead wax area,there are 2 ticks before the opener "Flight 505" begins.At this point and remaining for the rest of Side 2,the noise level is 0.5 out of 10 with some in between tracks being silent. I'd really call this side Mint,playwise.
