Description

An original 3rd press of Aftermath on the UK Decca label from 1968. Matrix 6A/5B. Stampers 1-AC/1-UC. Please note labels are consistent with a copy from autumn '68 - the Decca deep groove has just been discontinued. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 'Mono' Robert Stace cover with pinched spine. Also included is an original Decca inner sleeve date coded to July-1968 [078]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely outstanding condition and has clearly only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light [superficial] marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Aftermath is a super fussy release from an audio perspective - finding copies that playback super clean is a bit of a quest! Thankfully this copy is clearly very low-mileage and preserved to an unusually high standard. The audio quality is stunning and transparency is pretty much as good as you could possibly hope for. Interference is practically non-existent. we didn't detect more than a coupe of crackles [literally] in a couple of isolated moments. This is definitely FINAL UPGRADE territory and by far the best copy I've auditioned.
Cover (Ex+) Again, this title is so so hard to find in top condition. The front cover looks shiny like new with only a couple of very light creases. The rear is in astonishing condition and has totally avoided the usual fading. We can only make out super-light handling so this copy is very impressive and something of a one-off. Edge wear is super-light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. No splits or markings.
