THE ROLLING STONES - 'THE ROLLING STONES'
This wonderful sounding UK pressing dates from late-1964 on the deep-groove red & silver Decca label: LK.4605
This scarce '4th label' variation features the Arial font with the “MADE IN ENGLAND” at the top with the “Recording First Published 1964", which was quickly changed to 'P1964'.
The side 1 label has 'HONEST I DO' credited to 'Reed', published by 'Burlington Music'.
Track 4 is listed as 'I NEED YOU BABY'
The NCB and BIEM copyright boxes are on the left side of the label with the 'KT' purchase tax code opposite.
Matrices: XARL 6271-2A & XARL 6272-3A
This copy plays the long version of 'Tell Me'.
Stamper codes: 3,B/UH & 1/KC
Vinyl weight: 142g
Housed in a front laminated, bi-flipback cover printed by 'MacNeill Press' & original poly-lined inner-sleeve.
The cover presents all of the correct track listing information.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
Clean & bright with a number of spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked in strong daylight with only a few harmless wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine directly beneath halogen light.
Audio: MINT -
Carefully played on top-quality equipment only, all tracks play cleanly & clearly with no trace of any groove/playwear. There are no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions on this amazing sounding pressing which will not disappoint.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
A highly respectable example of this fragile cover which due to it's thin card is extremely difficult to find in anything approaching this condition. The iconic front panel is glossy and unworn with just a single 'thumbnail' wrinkles being the only sign of use. There is slight bruising to the lower corner tips but the upper two and both opening edges are sharp & unworn. The rear panel has some handling marks but is free from any writing or missing paper. Both seams and the spine are tight and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Light storage wrinkling only.
