The Replacements built an entire career out of rebelling, reacting and kicking against the pricks. It would be Hootenanny that freed the band from its early punk trappings and set them loose. Paul Westenberg would proudly note that Hootenanny was “the first album that sounds just like us.” Mostly recorded Oct. 82 - Jan. 83 at a warehouse in some godawful suburb north of Minneapolis.
