An Accurate Description of The Beatles FIRST UK Demo 45:
With only 250 reported to have been issued, it's not surprising that this Original 1962 UK Parlophone Beatles DEMO Vinyl 45 entitled ‘Love Me Do/PS I Love You’ is considered ONE OF THE RAREST Beatles Records in the World today.
This extremely sought after record was THE VERY FIRST BEATLES DEMO to have been issued by Parlophone in 1962 to promote The Beatles DEBUT single 'LOVE ME DO'. The Vinyl 45 is on the Official Parlophone Label with a white background and a large Red 'A' printed on the A-side. Paul McCartney's name is MIS-SPELT on both sides of the record labels, reading 'McArtney'. The B-side displays a Custom White Parlophone label with Black print. Both sides of the record labels are printed 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' label rim together with the wording 'Ardmore & Beechwood', and 'Demonstration Record Not For Sale' in black print.
I am starting this auction off at just £1. I have had this record for over thirty years. Pristine examples of this record have fetched as much as £5000. The record I am selling cannot be described as pristine, it has surface scuffing but no deep scratches and plays OK. It has the date 5/10/62 written on the A-side label in biro - I used to fantasize that Brian Epstein wrote this on the record........ you never know! I do not have the original sleeve.
