Description
Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.
Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:

PRESSED IN: AUSTRALIA .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?: No...although it has the original UN-boxed red and silver Decca labels, it has the publisher as Cromwell Music, not the original Essex Music.
This is the first of two such labels - it has the publisher name to the left of the centre-hole on each side, with the speed, catalogue number, and matrix number to the right of it....and the Jagger-Richard credit features only once on each side, at the bottom after the last song only. Also, the lettering is thin, and the producer credit is on a single line below the band name.
The second 'Cromwell unboxed red and silver' edition has the speed and matrix number to the left of the centre-hole with only the catalogue number to the right; the songwriters and publishing company name are written after each and every song; the letters are in a fatter font, and the producer credit is on two lines and in italics below the band name.
I've included pix of this second one for you to compare (the last two pix here).
Note: on both these editions the song "Prodigal Son" is incorrectly creditted to Jagger-Richards and NOT Rev. Robert Wilkins.
THE COVER: The parent company here, EMI (Australia) Ltd., imported covers from the UK, but they also printed some covers here. This one sports a UK 'Robert Stace & Co.' highly glossy laminated gatefold cover.
Comes in its original soft plastic inner sleeve (NOT one of those later crinkly, noisy ones...you know what I mean).
MATRIX NOs. IN RUN-OUT GROOVES:
side 1. SMA XZAL-8476-1K
side 2. SMA XZAL-8477-1K
CONDITION:
COVER: ( EX )...beautiful...has just a couple of very minor creases at the spine, and a small laminate split on the spine itself, plus a little wear on the back cover opening edge (just on the very edge...very minor)...
RECORD: ( VG[-] )...has many LIGHT marks...nothing heavy at all...plays very well indeed...with only some light crackling (most apparent between tracks)...it's very much a great listen still...I noticed one skip on "No Expectations", and one on "Street Fighting Man" - then replayed it and it played through (just thought I should mention that - but it may go either way)...
LABELS: (Side One: EX / Side Two: EX )...both have a few light spindle marks, and each has a number written in pencil ('B3' and '300' respectively)...

PACKING:
Don’t worry - I'll pack anything you buy VERY CAREFULLY to make sure it arrives in EXACTLY the condition it left here. More specifically, in the way I'd like to receive parcels myself. VINYL: All LPs come packaged carefully in solid corrugated card packaging designed specifically for LPs, plus the LPs are housed in clear plastic sleeves. The record itself is ALWAYS removed from cover ( except for SEALED LPs) for shipping to prevent seam splitting, and placed alongside the LP cover (inside its own inner sleeve, OR in an extra sleeve to keep in secure) within the clear plastic sleeve, which is then sealed. Likewise 7" singles/EPs are packaged the same way too - well protected. POSTERS: All posters are rolled within outer protective paper that extends well beyond the actual length of the poster to avoid any crushing of the ends, and then packed in a very sturdy solid-card mailing tube - packed carefully to allow no room for any movement of the item inside.
