'The Quintet' "Jazz At Massey Hall" 1953

RARE Debut Records (DEB 124), Mono, E

Recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto, Jazz at Massey Hall features "The Quintet," a ne plus ultra of the early bebop bands, comprising: Charlie Parker, alto saxophone; Dizzy Gillespie, trumpet; Bud Powell, piano; Charles Mingus, bass; and Max Roach, drums.  For contractual reasons, Parker could not appear on the original album cover, so he was billed instead as "Charlie Chan."  Released on Debut Records, founded by Mingus; this is the ORIGINAL mono pressing.  This record is in excellent (E) condition, with very few hairline scratches and scuffs on the vinyl.  The cover is also in excellent condition.
