Description
The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow
This superb copy of the The Pretty Things psychedelic classic, S.F. Sorrow, is a UK first press from 1968 on the sought after blue and black Columbia label.
The matrix numbers and mother stampers can be used to infer that this is one of the first few records off the production line and would have been a 'day of release' purchase.
The vinyl is housed within the original E. J. Day & Co. front-and-back side laminated gatefold sleeve.
Also included is the original EMI 'patents pending' inner sleeve.

Condition:
Vinyl: VERY GOOD +
Labels: VERY GOOD +
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only minor spindle marks are visible on either side.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
The vinyl retains deep-gloss playing surfaces which only show only a handful of light surface marks in strong daylight. Non which are overtly feel-able, however.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +
Despite the visual appearance, the heavy-weight vinyl sounds superb. The record plays with the distinction one might expect from the - 1 / - 1 first pressing. The bass is deep and full, the mids are clear and precise and the top end is well defined. A nice record.
Sleeve: VERY GOOD +
This 1st class sleeve looks fantastic. The front-and-back retain the original lustre and the cover image is vibrant with bright colours. There are several laminate ripples to both the front and back. There is slight foxing in the centrefold. All corners are strong with just subtle softening. The top, bottom and opening edges show minor storage rubbing. The square spine is without wear.
Inner Sleeve: VERY GOOD +
The original inner sleeve has tape on three sides. It has a small tear on the opening edge to both sides. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
