Description

This LP is an original 1965 release (The Fontana label). This is a MUST for any LP or LP Album collector, especially those who are looking to make an investment.

 

It was originally released in December 1965, only nine months after their debut album when the Pretties were showing major advances in their sound.

 

The power and energy are still here in abundance, but there's also more substance with the emergence of May/Taylor as a talented song writing team on tracks like "Buzz the Jerk", "Get the Picture" and especially the atmospheric "Can't Stand the Pain".

 

Of the R&B cuts, their savage version of Ike & Tina's "Gonna Find Me A Substitute" is a standout, but there's an incredible diversity, ranging from the jangling pop of "You Don't Believe Me" to the great, folksy " London Town" and the fuzz-driven soul-stomper "Buzz the Jerk". (Mike Stax)
