Description
Up for your consideration is one of the rarest Police LPs ever released entitled IN THE NAME OF THE LAW! put out by What Records in 1980 (What Records - 58). The 2-LP set includes songs recorded live in New York and London, around 1979 and/or 1980.
What makes this record all the more unusual and therefore, desirable, is that several of the song titles have been written incorrectly and best of all... the labels on the records are COMPLETELY WRONG! The records have yellow labels reading, "PLEASURE LOBE RECORDS" with "THE LAW" as the artist. The songs on the labels are also completely wrong! However, I can assure you it is in fact The Police caught Live way before they became a household name. :)
Here are the tracks as written on the back of the album with the correct titles in parenthesis.
Side One:
I Feel So Lonely (So Lonely) Walking Under The Moon (Walking on the Moon) Bring On The Night Message In A Bottle
Side Two:
The Best To Be Without You (The Bed's Too Big Without You) Roxanne I Can't Stand Losing You (Can't Stand Losing You) Landlord
Side Three:
One (Born in the 50's) Be My Girl (Be My Girl - Sally) I Want To Be Next to You (Next To You) Hole In My Life Death Wish
Side Four:
Never What Is Lost Truth Hits Everyone (Truth Hits Everybody) Peanuts Roxanne Next To You
These records have been enjoyed and show light, superficial surface marks throughout. They are in otherwise good shape and would certainly benefit from a proper cleaning. The sleeve has much ware and has completely split (see pic). However, it is NOT brittle and came from a smoke-free environment. Otherwise, it is in fare shape and once inserted into a plastic protective sleeve, it won't look so bad.
