Description
The Pharaohs "The Awakening" 1971 immediate 2nd pressing (the very 1st pressing label was ALL orange), Scarab Records SR-001, mega-rare, private label, Chicago Jazz, Funk/Soul, Soul-Jazz, Modal, Afro-Arts, south side of Chicago (began in 1962 as The Jazzmen), interesting that the Afro-sheen commercials of the era featured music by The Pharaohs; Maurice White (co-founder of Earth, Wind, & Fire) apparently signed-up the horn section of The Pharoahs for Earth, Wind, and Fire in the very early 1970's; this copy is in amazing condition, the NM cover is still in the shrink-wrap (very small tear in the shrink bottom right (see last photo)), the vinyl is in solid EXC+ condition, Side 1 is solid EXC, Side 2 is closer to NM-, super-clean vinyl; the labels are gorgeous with almost no spindle-wear, Matrix numbers are: Side 1: XCSV226130-1A T, Side 2: XCSV226131-1A \T; comes with a MoFi audiophile inner sleeve, this is a super-rare, ultra-cool, Chicago-afro-spiritual-funk-jazz LP - and to find it in this condition is insane. U.S. buyer to pay $4.00 media shipping (priority available upon request). International buyer please wait for invoice before payment, and inquire for costs. Insurance at the discretion of the buyer.
