I use the record collector grading system of Bad / Poor / Fair / Good (G) / Very Good / Excellent / Mint.
Please see below for grading details.
I also use a + or a - for grades that I consider slightly better or worse.
A VG disc on this site will not be is nasty condition like many sellers.
All records are sent out in plastic covers.
THE PRETTY THINGS.
SF SORROW.
ORIGINAL 1968 UK MONO COULMBIA LP - 1st PRESSING - SX 6306.
The record has XAX 3738 -1 / XAX 3739 -1 matrix numbers.
The Cover / VG+ / A clean example. The top of the spine (only 1") has has some black ink added. I only noticed this when taking the photos (up close) today. The cover has glossy lamination with a few creases.
The Record / VG+ / The record has a very nice original gloss and plays well. Under halogen bulb the record has a little light surface wear with a more visible (but light) surface mark on side 2.
I will give a play grade of nice VG+. I noticed some clicks at the end of side 2 due to a small mark. The record plays very well with a little surface crackle here and there.
The Labels / VG++ condition. Both labels are in nice shape with some spindle wear. These are textured labels. All UK 1st issue Mono pressings have textured labels.
The Inner / VG+ condition. Original correct EMI inner cover with no side splits. .................................................................................
I USE THE UK GRADING SYSTEM BELOW.
Mint - as new and in perfect condition.
Excellent - A real nice example with light wear only. An EX disc will play great and the cover will be very nice too.
Very Good - The disc will have light surface wear and some light marks. The record will still play very well but may have some surface sound and a little crackle as this is graded as VG. The cover will have some creasing and storage age wear. The disc and cover will have no very serious faults. A VG disc and cover will also not be perfect!
Good / G condition - The disc will have very visible surface wear and light marks with some deeper marks. The cover will show much age wear and will not be the best example! The record will still play but will have surface sound and ticks etc.
Fair - This will be a tatty example of both disc and cover. The record will play with surface sound and noise. The cover will look tatty from age and storage wear.
Bad / Poor -This will be a badly worn example of both record and cover. The disc may jump or play with much surface sound. I would rarely sell an item like this.
