The POLICE - SYNCHRONICITY LP - INSANELY RARE AUSTRALIAN YELLOW AUDIOPHILE VINYL ORIG. TOUR SOUVENIR LP FROM 1984 - MINT LP! ONLY ONE ON EABY!
To correspond with their largest (and last) global tour, the Aussies produced a limited tour package LP on BANANA YELLOW VINYL, along with a PIN-UP. They also made different colored labels for each side of the LP - SEE PICS. They also produced one in LIPSTICK RED vinyl, and another in ROBIN'S EGG BLUE vinyl. (That's how they were referred to back then - ya can't make shit like this up...).
There was a colored vinyl LP for each of the 3 colors on the standard Synchronicity LP... I have ALL 3, and the blue vinyl cover is autographed by all three Policemen as part of a RADIO CONTEST to promote the tour. The blue one is a one-of-a-kind item, which I ain't sure I'm parting with yet. Cost me big back then, as you can imagine, they were the biggest band in the world at that time. AND the most collectable, due to the ingenious marketing strategies of Miles and Ian Copeland. I've heard, and was told, that there were only 100 of each made, but I can't substantiate those numbers; just know that less than 10 of each ever found their way stateside. I was part of an elite group of Police collectors worldwide in the 80's, and a contributor to their US fanzine, "Get Me The Police". I have a set of those somewhere around here too, along with a full, NM set of their UK fanzine, THE POLICE FILES, if anybody's interested...I'll get around to listing those someday.
The cover, pin-up, paper sleeve w/ lyrics (same as the US/UK ones), rice paper sleeve and LP are all in cherry shape - see pics for minor cover wear, but ALL inner items are stone cold mint.
Never played, stored for decades in boxes recently opened - see my listings for more incredibly rare Police items, and there's a few more boxes yet to open. No storage facility, always moved from residence to residence, always in boxes in climate controlled closets in a kid + smoke free home.
