Description
The Outcasts very scarce 3-track 7" on It Records (It 4) from 1978. Tracks are You're A Disease (called You're A Decease on the label); Don't Want To Be No Adult; and Frustration. Running order on sleeve is different to that on label...SEE THE PHOTOS!
Legend has it that 1500 were pressed originally, but 1000 of these were destroyed in an explosion and only 500 were actually released in '78. Can anyone confirm whether this is true?
The vinyl is barely marked in any way on both sides and was well looked after by the person I got it from (I know him. All his records were stored in plastic covers from day of purchase; tape-recorded; and handled, stored and treated properly).
The white label has some minor 'bubbling' of the label around the rim but I am assured by the vendor that it was like this when bought new in 1978. Further research by me on the 'net indicates that most of these had similar label flaws - check it for yerself if you can be arsed! Let's be honest here - 'It' Records wasn't exactly EMI was it? I am sure the quality control standards were different.
The flimsy paper sleeve has only light ringwear on the front. The rear has the same light ringwear and some very light 'foxing' on the white areas (about 6 small spots - foxing is a chemical reaction within the paper and is sometimes difficult to avoid as it depends on the type of paper and other, usually environmental, factors). Otherwise, the sleeve is as good as you can expect for this 34-year-old independent release - no rips, no writing, no stickers, no sticker residue. One of the best I've seen. This doesn't turn up very often and I think you'll struggle to find a better one.
If you contact me asking me to end the auction early and offering to buy it you will be ignored. Please respect this and do not waste my time. Or yours...
I aim to provide an honest and accurate description of the items I sell, supported by photos and, where appropriate, play testing. I provide a full, no-questions-asked, money-back guarantee on all items I sell. If you aren't satisfied with the item for any reason I will refund your money when I receive the item back in the condition in which it was posted by me to the buyer. If you have any questions about this item, just ask. I try to be helpful. Thank you.
ITEMS FOR DELIVERY IN THE UK WILL ONLY BE SENT BY FIRST CLASS SIGNED-FOR MAIL.
All items are sent properly and strongly packaged in a mailer with a protective outer plastic sleeve, corrugated inner stiffeners, and a paper inner sleeve. Postage and packing costs are as follows…
UK First Class ‘Signed For’ = £2.00
‘Signed For’ is to protect YOU as a buyer and ME as a seller so I can confirm whether the record has arrived and so you can track its progress.
Europe by Airmail = £2.50 (BUT SEE BELOW!)
Rest of the World by Airmail = £3.50 (BUT SEE BELOW!)
(e.g. USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or anywhere that is NOT UK or Europe)
I reserve the right to insist that an item is posted using either the ‘International Signed-For’ service or the ‘Airsure’ service to Europe or Rest of World and paid for by the buyer accordingly.
‘International Signed-For’ will apply if, for example, the item has sold for a sum above £30; or if the buyer has a low or dubious feedback score; or if the buyer is in a country which has, in my experience and that of others I know, a poor record of safe postal delivery (e.g. Italy, Brazil, Russia to name a few).
‘International Signed-For’ costs an extra £4.95 IN ADDITION to the standard airmail costs shown above. Please note also that if the item sells for more than £46 there is an EXTRA £2.50 to add for insurance. These are NOT my charges; they are the prices charged by the Post Office. See:
http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/international-signed
It may apply in other circumstances too and at my discretion.
Depending on your country and the final sale price of the item, I may insist that the Airsure service is used instead. I generally use this for items sold for £100 or more. It costs more than ‘International Signed-For.’
For applicable non-EU destinations, Airsure costs £5.30 plus the standard airmail costs shown above. If the item sells for more than £46 there is also an EXTRA £2.50 to add for insurance.
For applicable EU destinations, please contact me for a price or go to: http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/airsure/prices
These are NOT my charges; they are the prices charged by the Post Office.
IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER AND YOU WANT FEEDBACK LEFT FOR YOU THEN PLEASE HAVE THE COURTESY TO LEAVE IT FOR ME FIRST. I WILL THEN LEAVE IT FOR YOU.
By bidding on this item you are taken to have read and agreed to all of the above.
