Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.

Anyway, let's continue with this one vintage punk single by San Francisco's legendary band The Nuns (calling themselves Los Nuns on this release) This 7" single was released by Bosco Records of New York in 1979. This single contains the tracks: The Beat b/w Media Control.  Single comes with its original picture sleeve.

Nuns lineup on this release was: Jeff Olener (vocals) Alejandro Escovedo (guitar/vocals/percussion) Kevin Foley (drums/percussion) Joey Terranova (bass/piano/percussion) Richie Detrick (vocals/ percussion)

The Beat was the bands second release (first on Rosco Records) and includes the following tracks:

Condition: The record has a short crease or crack at the outer edge that plays through with a couple of clicks but does not skip I've seen a few copies of this single over the years and a couple of them has this same flaw. Otherwise the record is very clean with no scratches, scuffs or other problems. The picture sleeve has some creasing and wear along the edges and corners as well as a 3/4" seam split at the top on the upper left corner but no writing, rips, tears or other problems. I do guarantee everything I sell, so if you are not happy with the record due to the flaw mentioned above, just return it to me for a full refund I'll even pay the return postage!

Even with the flaw on the record this single is a very hard to find piece of early New York and San Francisco punk history...the Nuns were the opening act at the Sex Pistols final gig in San Francisco. 

I was lucky enough to see the Nuns a few times at the Mabuhay Gardens in SF during the bands prime... and regardless of what Jeff and Alejandro have to say about the band, I can tell you they were always a lot of fun!

I grade on a stricter scale than Goldmine (at least the watered down version that seems to exist here on eBay) I will take the time to describe any flaws on both the cover and record itself rather than give a letter grade that will mean something different to seemingly every record buyer and seller.

I am a very picky record collector and have been let down many times buying a record that was graded VG++ or NM here on eBay and other mail order services that were pretty beat up...and I'm sure that has happened to you too!

Due to overwhelming requests, I generally ship domestic packages by Media Mail. However, please keep in mind that while Media Mail ihis the cheapest shipping method, it is also the slowest. Media Mail can take one month or MORE to arrive. Media Mail shipping within the United States is $4.00 including mandatory Delivery Confirmation.

I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. The $4.00 covers between one and two records. Additional records (three and up) are an additional .25 cents each. Please wait for an invoice from me as the Paypal system does not calculate the combined shipping.

Overseas shipping is by Air Mail only. Shipping for one record to Canada is $6.00 and everywhere else in the world is $9.00. Overseas shipping is by regular air mail and can take anywhere from one to four weeks to arrive. I do combine shipping on overseas purchases - I will send an invoice with the combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one record.

Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.

All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. Record will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.
