This was the first complete set of Mahler's numbered (and completed) symphonies. It was released in 1967 in a limited edition, bound in leather, with the 14 LPs each in a paper sleeve in a loose-leaf album, along with a bonus LP and a 32-page booklet. The album fits into an outer slipcase also bound in leather. Each set was hand numbered and weighs in right around 10 pounds. The full-size booklet included 3 articles: "Mahler: His Time Has Come," by Leonard Bernstein, "Mahler: The Man and His Music," and "Gustav Mahler in America." In addition are program notes for each symphony by Bruno Walter, Edward Downes, and Jack Diether. The bonus LP includes reminiscences by musicians who played under Mahler's baton in New York, and reminiscences of Mahler's daughter, Anna Mahler, both interviewed by William Malloch.
