Description
This is the original 1972 UK release (via EMI) of The Motown Story, volumes 1-5. 56 hits that made Motown history, from Please Mr Postman and You've Really Got A Hold On Me to I Heard It Through The Grapevine and Ain't No Mountain High Enough. What makes it special is the audio interviews with the artists that recorded them. Box set includes 24-page illustrated book on the story of Motown. Also included: six 8x10 black and white publicity photos of some of the artists featured (placed there by a publicist, since this was a review copy). All five records and their sleeves are in mint condition, never having been played or removed from the box -- except to photograph them for this auction. The box itself has picked up some medium shelf wear: visible scuffs on all edges but no splits or significant defects. Overall condition is EXcellent or better.
