Description
This is an Original demo from Screen Gems. I played a few times when I was a kid. It looks in fair shape. It looks to be vinyl over aluminum. The songs are: side one 1) Let's Dance On 2) Monkees Theme, 3) This Just doesn't Seem To Be my Day, 4) All The Kings Horses, 5) I Don't Think You Know Me, 6) The King Of Girls I Could Love. Side 2 1) Gonna Buy Me A Dog, 2) So Goes Love, 3) Brand X
This is one of a kind record
I played the the record through today. It's a little scratchy but didn't skip. the first side is in better shape then the second side. Oddly only the 4th and 6th song on the first side have lyrics. "So Goes Love" on the 2nd side is a beautiful instrumental. I believe that the Monkees didn't play the music on there first album. I believe this is a demo of that music that they sang to. Some of these songs didn't make the cut.
Unexpectedly I will be out of town, returning on the 9/16/11. I'll be able to ship the record on 9/17/11
I had no idea that there would be so much interest in the record. Thanks to all of you who have contacted me. My time in Hollywood and hanging out with my friend in the Monkees "Micky" was a very cool thing as a kid. I think I got this record from Bobby Heart / Tommy Boyce who lived next store in the Hollywood hills, They introduced me to Micky. Who lived down the street. I consider Micky a friend, even though I haven't been in contact with him for years. Anyway I am selling this as a one of a kind item, so I'm not going to make copies!
