We are offering a rare original US pressing of the LP released by the Masked Marauders.
Condition:
The Cover: Shows very minor signs of ring wear on the front and back. There is a 1 and a half inch split at the top of the opening pocket. The spin and other seams are strong and completely intact. No writing, stickers or other damage. Over all VG+
The Record: VG++ very clean, maybe played a couple of times with care.
This record hoax was featured on NBC's Rock Center on Friday, April 5th. Google "Rock Center Masked Marauders" for an excellent account of the whole story.

In short, the Masked Marauders LP was released on the Warner Bros. Reprise/Deity label in the fall of 1969.
The recording captured a purported "super session" of the era's leading rock and roll musicians, including Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney.
None of the artists were mentioned on the album’s cover, supposedly because of contractual agreements with their recording companies.
But an advance review in Rolling Stone magazine on October 18, 1969, disclosed the stellar lineup.
In actuality, The Masked Marauders was part of a hoax concocted by Rolling Stone editor Greil Marcus. Under the pseudonym T.M. Christian (a reference to Terry Southern’s novel The Magic Christian), Marcus wrote a tongue-in-cheek review of a fictitious bootleg album in collaboration with record reviewer Bruce Miroff.
The review lauded the record, calling it "powerful, evocative, & stunning, a string of masterpieces....more than a way of life; it IS life."
The review was intended to parody the "supergroup" trend then taking place (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Blind Faith and Led Zeppelin) and was also inspired by Great White Wonder, a double album of unreleased Dylan recordings often credited as the first bootleg.
Because of this review, by the time the album reached record shops, it was virtually a legend.
