Their deep sound and versatile style is pleasing to the ear as they sing both the old and the new gospel songs. If you are a devoted fan of gospel music I’m sure you will add the Marksmen Quartet to your list of favorites. With more than a decade of experience singing gospel songs, The Marksmen Quartet knows very well what the good gospel.singing friends and supporters like to hear and in this album is a good example and a reflection of their ability and aim to please their many fans. Hubert Brewe.r sings the lead; Doug Brewer, who is .Hubert’s son, sings the baritone; Hubert’s brother, Walter Brewer, sings first tenor; and my good friend (with whom I worked many years in the Har- vesters Quartet), Hershel Wooten, sings the good low bass notes you hear on this album. Kent Burchette does his part in fine style at the piano and Ricky Whitley plays bass for the group. Hubert Brewer wrote the song, “Getting Ready To Go”, included in this album, and like all the other members of The Marksmen Quartet, is dedicated to their life of singing gospel songs and, knowing this, I predict a bright future for this fine group. All of these fine men are from North Carolina and, being from North Carolina myself, I highly recommend this album to you as an example of the fine talent that exists in a fine state, The Marksmen Quartet.
