Description
For auction is a 1955 release by Clef Records--MG C-646. The record is titled The Magnificent Charlie Parker.
This is from an estate and I am not an audiophile but from a visual exam and playing the record through on a small portable turntable with small speakers I would grade it as Very Good. There are some pops during quiet moments and some of what I would call minor static or background noice but no skips and nothing that I believe takes away from the sound of this jazz great.
I can feel no scratches. There are a few lines that I have photographed which I would call scuffs. I have not tried to clean the record. It is just as it came from the long-time owner.
The David Stone Martin cover has a split along the entirety of the bottom edge and along the outside 3" of the top edge. from the opening about 8 inches. The corners are rounded and worn. I would grade the cover as Good to Good Plus.
The dead wax is marked MGC-646A and MGC-646B. There is also what looks to me to be a block H incised on both sides.
