Description
This auction is for The Locust - Safety Second, Body Last 12" EP test press released by Three One G. This was pressed by Smashed Plastic in Chicago, IL. The auction is for a black vinyl test press, which is limited to 20, and this specific auction comes with the printed cover, printed inner sleeve, and both labels. All printed material were test prints for the band and label to approve.
Note: The cover has a slight ding on the corner. Otherwise all parts are in mint condition.
Album description via Three One G:
2005 saw the Ipecac Recordings/Radio Surgery release of The Locust’s “Safety Second, Body Last,” the follow-up EP to their acclaimed album, “Plague Soundscapes.” The concept for SSBL has been explained as one 10-minute song split into two tracks, each of which is further dissected into separate movements. The result is a timeless sci-fi onslaught described in reviews as an “elegant mind-fuck of organized noise” and “a fascinating contrast full of viciously dadaist musical fragments and surreal, perceptive lyrics.”
The now well-recognized cover art is a piece titled “Treatment” by Neil Burke, a member of likeminded experimental band Men’s Recovery Project.
There were 20 test press 12"s total, 18 of them with super limited spray painted and silkscreened covers recently available from Three One G, and which are no longer available. There are two copies of the test press with the test jacket, inner sleeve, and labels. This auction is for one of the later.
