Description
The Kinks – The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society; U.K. 1968. Mono, Gatefold with the opening on the inside. I have attempted to photo the scratches that I believe will be heard when playing this record - these are documented in the photos after the cover photos, 3 or 4 photos….other marks on the vinyl are superficial The matrix is NPL18233A -1̶3̶♢̶W̶ 3♢W …….with KT at 12 o’clock and H at 9 o’clock. I think this is the second variation of this pressing, which must be the first considering the prices on Discogs. Not much spindle wear, some fading on the labels. The cover has seen better days. Evidence that it has had sellotape on it, with some remaining at the bottom where the spine has split. The photos illustrate its condition better than any description of mine. It’s in a black sleeve which has a small tear in it, I don’t know if this is the original sleeve it was sold in. Wasn’t able to find out. I’m starting at half the minimum discogs’ price.
Update: I had another look at the record and particularly the scratch that’s shown across the run in and the first two tracks of side 1….on playing it it does cause the record to jump into track one and again twice during one and two. The other tracks on side one are fine. On playing side 2 the first two tracks jumped once, the other tracks were fine….. but I feel I should withdraw the record from sale. Out of 15 tracks four jumped. The remaining 11 play well and there is little to no background noise. Because the record is an early pressing and someone might want it, bearing in mind the tracks that jump, I’ve put it up from £1 for the remaining three days. Apologies for the late change of events, so to speak.
