THE KINKS - 'ARTHUR OR THE DECLINE & FALL OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE'
1972 UK 2nd PRESSING LP
This hard to find 2nd pressing dates from c.1972 and is a stereo copy on the back & white PYE Records label: NSPL 18317
Pressed on high-quality audiophile vinyl which appears translucent red when held directly up in front of strong light.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is etched into each run-out.
The disc is housed within front laminated non-gatefold 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover still bearing the 'NPL..' MONO catalogue number on the rear panel.
It comes complete with its original plain white inner-sleeve.

Both are 'as new' with no spindle marks or wear to either centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean & glossy with just a handful of insignificant light surface marks, but nothing I would call a scratch. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a small number of barely visible wispy paper hairlines but no major blemishes or wear. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Play: EXCELLENT +
This superb copy has clearly received just a small number of plays on high-end equipment and all tracks play without any trace of groove/playwear. Apart from a touch of light background on each run-in, there really is little else to fault here - certainly no ticks, clicks, pops or any other such distraction on this great sounding copy.

Clean & flat with just an inevitable light disc impression but no writing, tears or splits.
