Description
The Kinks "Are The Village Green Preservation Society": 1968 1st US Stereo pressing of this iconic classic on Reprise Records, original orange & tan two-tone label. Record: a strong VG+, quite a clean glossy copy, perhaps the odd unaffecting-sound sleeve related hairlines (though very VERY minimal from what I see and as pictured), I have put the LP in an included anti-static inner-sleeve to continue to best preserve and protect this magnificent record (also included is the original factory inner-sleeve I have put inside the album cover, for fellow "completists" like myself). Cover: WOULD be a VG+, however, along with minor ringwear (as pictured), I'm going to bring it down a grade to a conservative grading of VG, as the back cover has some scuffing from what looks like a stain removal (as pictured). The FRONT/BACK Covers and INNER Gatefold is otherwise admittedly in very great condition, especially when considering it's been in existence for almost 50 years now, additionally the heavy cardboard edges, seams, and corners are strong and tight (with a mostly unnoticeable bend on the lower front right, as pictured).

ALBUM BIOGRAPHY: 'The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society' is the sixth studio album by the English rock group the Kinks, released in November 1968. It was the last album by the original quartet, as bassist Pete Quaife left the group in early 1969. A collection of vignettes of English life, the record was assembled from songs written and recorded by the band over the previous two years at the height of their creative prowess. Although the record is widely considered one of the most influential and important works by the Kinks, it failed to chart upon release, selling about 100,000 copies. In 2003 the album was ranked number 255 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
