I WILL BE LISTING A LARGE NUMBER OF RARE JAZZ LPs OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, AND ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. PLEASE CHECK MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE AUDIOPHILE AND HARD TO FIND RELEASES! 

 

UP FOR BID IS THE ULTRA RARE LP FROM 1956, “TALKIN’ & WALKIN’ WITH THE KENNY DREW QUARTET”, FEATURING KENNY DREW ON PIANO, JOE MAINI ON ALTO AND TENOR, LEROY VINNEGAR ON BASS AND LAWRENCE MARABLE ON DRUMS. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL DEEP GROOVE FIRST-PRESSING ON THE JAZZ:WEST LABEL. REALLY GREAT MUSIC FROM DREW AND COMPANY, AND A VERY SOLID COPY OF THIS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND CLASSIC!

COVER:       VG (Moderate cover wear on both front and back, clear plastic tape on top and bottom seems to hold them together, dented top left corner. Still a really nice looking copy. See photos.)

 

VINYL:         Strong VG (The vinyl has light surface wear to both sides, but still looks and sounds great. I have play graded the entire record, and it has some light surface noise in places, but nothing major, and much of the album on both sides plays with very little or no surface noise at all. There is a small pressing flaw on track two of side two that causes a tick for about 15 seconds, but it is not overpowering, and doesn’t ruin the song. No skips anywhere. If it wasn’t for the pressing flaw, I would give this one a VG+. There is a piece of tape with the word “kiko” written on it on the label of the a-side. See photos.)  

 

NOTE:  I have carefully visually graded each record under a bright light using conservative standards. In this case, I play graded the record all the way through on both sides.
