Description
The Joneses. Keeping up with the Joneses. Dream Records(DDLP-8602). 1986.
Glam 'n' sleaze rock with a twist of punk 'n' drugs. The Joneses' independent release, "Keeping Up With the Joneses", includes a gritty cover of Richie Supa's "Chip Away the Stone", which Aerojones, err 'smith, banged out back in their down-in-the-gutter, drug crazed daze of '78. The 1986 release from the seedy Los Angeles quartet of voaclist/guitarist Jeff Drake, guitarist Johnny Nation, bassist Scott Franklin and drummer Glenn Holland, opens with the out-of-control "Ms. 714", and adds the scuzy "She's So Filthy", plus "Cut the Trash", "Black Cat Bone" and the down 'n' dirty "La De Da". Recorded on a shoestring budget, The Joneses were another in a long line of groups victimized by a lack of label support and the wild Hollywood scene.
Conditions Rated: Cover 7+ or EX- medium gloss cover with edge wear and corner bumps, light ring wear, punch hole upper right corner///Record 9 or NM- black and shiny.
