Description

The John Dummer Band also known as John Dummer's Blues Band, John Dummer's Famous Music Band, John Dummer's Oobleedooblee Band and The John Dummer Band Featuring Nick Pickett was a British blues band of the 1960s and 1970s and was noted for its extensive roster of members, including Graham Bond, Dave Kelly, Jo Ann Kelly, Tony McPhee Bob Hall, John O'Leary and Pick Withers, and for supporting US bluesmen such as Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker on UK tours.

The Album „Blue“ from „The John Dummer Band featuring Nick Pickett“, has been released in 1972 and is the fourth album of the John Dummer band, nevertheless how the band was called in detail. Cover Design by Roger Dean, one of the most prominent cover designers at that time.

THIS RECORD

OVERALL GRADING (according to Goldmine Grading Guide):

Media:                                    VG+

Sleeve:                                 VG

1. MEDIA/RECORD

ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.K. PRESSING FROM 1972

NO REISSUE, NO IMPORT, NO COUNTERFEIT PRESSING

1.1.        RECORDING

Full-bodied analog recording (not an inferior, digital recording)

1.2.        MATRIX

Side 1 ''6360055 1#1'' (earliest only 1st press)

Side 2 ''6360055 2#1'' (earliest only 1st press)

1.3.        VINYL

Record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first and very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording.

1.4.        VISUAL

The vinyl looks impeccable with only one superthin hairline on Side A and three superfine hairlines on Side B, no sound imperfections caused by this. No tips, no pops, nothing else. The original luster is still intact, and the vinyl still shines and sparkles almost like new.

1.5.        SOUND

There especially is some smooth noise before each first track of each side and some very smooth noise throughout the whole record, hardly to hear. The music is still very clear and crispy for the whole record.

1.6.      INNERSLEEVE

The record comes in the original poly-lined inner sleeve, which has - apparently with success - shielded the vinyl from the harmful impact of elements over many years. Plus a brandnew innersleeve to protect the original from further harm.
