Description
You are bidding on a 1st pressing edition of Electric Ladyland, recorded by The Jimi Hendrix Experience on Track Records in 1968. This LP has the much sought after blue text on the inner sleeve, and the LP title in the label indent.Later copies did not have this.Further evidence of this album being a first pressing are the inverted matrix numbers.
The matrix numbers are as follows:
RECORD 1. SIDE A. 613008 A#1. SIDE D. 613008 B#1
RECORD 2. SIDE B. 613009 A#1. SIDE C. 613009 B#1
The condition of the vinyl is as follows:
SIDE A. Minimal background noise. 2 light surface marks.Do not affect sound quality. VG+
SIDE D. Minimal background noise.1 light surface mark.Does not affect sound quality.VG+
SIDE B. Minimal background noise. 2 light surface marks.Does not affect sound quality.VG+
SIDE C. Minimal background noise.1 light surface mark.Does not affect sound quality.VG+
The condition of the cover is as follows:
OUTER COVER. Some edging wear on bottom of sleeve.Spine has 4 small wear marks.Small mark on rear of cover. Some light creasing to laminate.
INNER COVER. The blue text is in very good condition. Some light creasing to laminate. The problem with the laminate is commonplace with this LP and was not resolved until the Polydor re-issues came out.
RECORD SLEEVES.Original sleeves and show signs of wear.No tears though.
RECORD LABEL. Minimal spindle marks. Hardly noticeable.
I have played this album twice in the last three days to double check sound quality and have to say the sound is great with excellent seperation. You do occassionally pick up some background noise in the quieter parts but this does not impact on the listening experience.I believe given its age I could have graded at EX-, but decided to err on the side of caution.I have used the Record Collector Rare Record Guide in my assessment of this LP.
