Introduction.......
A very rare record, and its in very good condition too. This LP was the first ever edition on the day of release in the UK in 1968, being the last of the 3 studio albums with fellow band members Noel Redding on bass / backing vocals and drummer / backing vocalist Mitch Mitchell.
Sometimes known as the ghost text version, this release features printing errors to the inner cover text which has blue text track listing but underneath the blue text a different track order to the album can be made out.
Condition is detailed below and we have done a 1 minute video too of the playback

Record One - Glossy both sides, no noticeable marks to play surface. Labels undamaged, just feint spindle trails.

Record Two - Apart from a feint hairline on side B1, surfaces look fantastic, with shiny glossy surfaces. Some light spindle trails on the labels both sides.
Runouts: 'X' indicates a scratched out letter or number (these early matrixes are quite hard to make out, but this one reads as follows)

The paper inners have the British patent no. 800513 & 973939 --- Made in England 098 & 108. These have been folded at top corners, but no rips or tears.
The Cover.......6/10
This early version features the later self censored naked ladies cover, which has a glossy lustre to it and bright colours. The inner gatefold features a Hendrix portrait on right-hand side and two sepia images of Redding & Mitchell on left with the blue track/credit text below them. "Track Record" logo bottom centre, E.J.Day print data to left. Erratic use of upper & lower-case in the text.
There are some issues with the laminate on the front cover which has lifted across the text bottom edge and near the opening. Rear is almost perfect.
Seams and spine intact and look great. Opening edge is a little thumbed, but overall looks good with no rips or tears. Corners and top/bottom of spine edges rubbed. Inner print clean, some laminate cracking along inner spine edges.
Playback...........7/10
Overall it sounds great, with nearly quiet run ins, a really nice, clear sound for the majority of playback. Just the odd whisp of occasional static and feint light surface noise in the quiet passages. Considering its age and popularity, its survived very well. Hard to find them better than this.
