For auction is a very good listeners copy of Are You Experienced by British-American rock band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Led by guitar virtuoso, Hendrix, and accompanied by Noel Redding on bass and Mitch Mitchell on Drums, the trio, made a massive impact on music history in a very short span of time. Are You Experienced was the first of only three albums the band recorded in 3 years. This debut was released in the US in August 1967 and was a great success both critically and commercially. It peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the charts for 106 weeks, 76 of which it remained in the Top-40. Although the songs only had moderate success on the charts, the album is filled with rock classics that help define the psychedelic rock genre. Included are “Purple Haze”, “Manic Depression”, “Hey Joe”, “May This Be Love”, “The Wind Cries Mary”, “Fire” and “Foxey Lady”. This copy is a 1968 reissue with 2-tone Reprise labels.
Vinyl is play graded VG. Many light visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Please see pics.
Cover is in VG+ condition. Minor shelf wear on corners and seams and no splits. Title is fully legible. The front image has bubbles along the top. This downgrades the cover from EX. Very light ring wear on both sides. Original Reprise Records inner sleeve is included but a generic white die-cut one is used to protect vinyl. Please see pics.
