Description

This item is a first press mono promotional album released in 1957 on Columbia Records by The Jazz Messengers entitled 'Hard Bop'. Record label and number is Columbia Records CL 1040. Record itself is in strong very good condition and when played the record plays through fine with great fidelity and no skips. There is some light surface noise throughout some parts of the record and there is a repeating click that lasts for about a minute on the song 'Cranky Spanky' and another repeating click on the song 'Stanley's Stiff Chickens' that also lasts about a minute. Record was cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine and record labels show very little if any spindle wear (see photos). Matrix numbers are:

 Record cover is in very good plus condition with flaws being some light wear, some writing on the back of the cover near the top right corner (JG-15) and some tape on the front of the cover near the top left corner and also a piece of blue tape on the back of the cover near the top left corner.
