Description
From a description on the internet:
"This came out originally as a book/vinyl record combination to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. With 160 pages of often graphic photographs (many full-page), newspaper clippings and posters, document reproductions with actual signatures, and a facsimile of the single issue of the insurgent newspaper "Irish War News - The Irish Republic" dated Tuesday, April 25, 1916, the book is set up this way: Foreword by Eamon de Valera, then President of Ireland - Easter 1966; Prelude - Mixed With Memories Of Dublin by Goddard Lieberson; The Spring Of 1916 by Thomas P. O'Neil; Two Voices Of The Rising - Part 1 - The Coming Revolution by Padraic Pearse; Part II - What Is Our Programme? by James Connolly; "... We Ourselves ..." by Sean T. O'Kelly; A Terrible Beauty - by Benedict Kiely.
Originally included with the two 33 1/3-rpm records is a large, fold-out reproduction of "Poblacht Na H Eireann - The Provisional Government Of The Irish Republic - To The People Of Ireland" while the discs, produced by Davis Rubinson for the CBS Legacy Collection, has accompanying notes by David Greene and are narrated throughout by Charles Kuralt, CBS News Correspondent."
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL BOX PLUS LP BOX SET PLUS POSTER!!
All in pristine unused condition as seen in photos. The book is the 1967 3rd Printing. LPs look unplayed, rating then NM. The poster is not thick paper and has been folded for about 50 years, but it for sure can be mounted on foam board (for example) and look quite nice. I found one tiny tear at a crease - none within the folded corners. The book is mounted in a plastic container which has shielded the box set.
RARE, COLLECTIBLE, AND IN SUPERB CONDITION!!
