Description

ATTENTION ALL POTENTIAL FOREIGN WORLDWIDE BUYERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!! I SHIP TO ALL COUNTRIES WITH NO COUNTRIES EXCLUDED!!! PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WANT TO BID FROM ANY COUNTRY LISTED EXCLUDED AS THIS IS A GLITCH THAT EBAY HAS NOT YET COMPETENTLY ADDRESSED OR SOLVED! APPEARING IN ALL OF MY LISTINGS I CAN'T CONTROL IT UNFORTUNATELY!

I have much more I will be offering the next few months including as always some top rarities in choice condition on such labels as Harvest, Marmalade, Neon, Vertigo, B&C/Charisma, Dandelion, Deram, Polydor, Pegasus, Philips, Blue Horizon, Transatlantic, Virgin/Caroline etc. Please be patient and keep watching as it takes time when available to go through various sections of my collection and in some areas I've barely scratched the surface of what I'll be offering. For some of the larger labels such as B&C/Charisma, Harvest, Transatlantic, Vertigo, Virgin/Caroline etc. I am waiting until I have assembled more of a quantity of titles to offer at one time rather than just listing a few here and there along with other stuff.

ATTENTION TO ALL EBAYERS--PLEASE TAKE NOTE: After much consideration and frustration on my part to not serve you better by getting more listings up regularly each week I will be implementing a new policy as of September 9, 2012. Rest assured that this will in no way affect my overall standards of service, nor the quality of what I offer. Basically I will be dropping some of the details below in what has been my routinely elaborate individual item descriptions, IF the items are not deemed by me to be bigger ticket potential ie. $100.00 + LPs. With up to 12 pictures much of this information should be self evident anyway by carefully viewing all of them. For top rarities I offer that should sell for multiple hundreds or even $1,000.00 + (even in the currently weak worldwide economy), I will continue to provide the same more elaborate descriptions that I always have, both supplemented and verified with up to 12 photos each that are always of the exact items I'm offering for sale as anyone who has purchased from me before has experienced. If you have any specific questions about any item that's not self evident, then feel free to contact me and I will respond ASAP. Please do not wait until the last day when the auction is ending though, unless by chance you have just noticed the listing. I rarely monitor the bidding when my auctions are ending as I'm usually working at getting more new listings up for your benefit. Needless to say my feedback speaks for itself! For those of you who have left it (which is the vast majority of you), I appreciate your continued support of myself as primarily a seller, as well as the overall Ebay community at large to continue making it a better and more reliable experience for everyone. For the few that continue to not leave feedback despite multiple purchases from me in the past I will no longer be leaving feedback in advance for you as I've continued to do for everyone before including all brand new customers. Naturally if anyone's dis-satisfied for some reason I want to know about it so I can potentially make it right if at all possible.

Welcome Back Rare Vinyl Fans & Fiends Alike. So sorry for the rather long un-intended hiatus from selling since last spring of 2011 but other demands on my time were required.

HERE you will often FIND offered BETTER CONDITION RECORDS than many other

(visually graded only) sources offer, WHICH ARE FREQUENTLY TOP COPIES & VIRTUALLY new or LIKE-NEW

and unplayed or played very few times, AND/OR THE BEST COPIES POSSIBLE of many choice records.

Purchased: USED. Nice 1968 Rare original UK copy of these excellent Indo-Jazz Fusions vintage recordings by this great largely anonymous group that may be a similar line-up to the equally rare classic Curried Jazz LP from 1969 on MFP. For the benefit of those of you who are not that familiar with or aware of this rather small yet unique bunch of Indo-Jazz Fusion recordings emanating (largely) from the UK that seamlessly fused Indian raga music with jazz successfully into a new idiom, it was a truly remarkable achievement with splendid music results when it worked synergistic-ally. Indo-Jazz Suite, the very first outing of Joe Harriot's double quintet under the direction of John Mayer from October 10, 1966 was a start and a step in the right direction, but IMHO it failed to achieve that truly synergistic quality (despite Thom Jurek's All Music review to the contrary) that remains elusive for many albeit fine musicians. However that quickly became rectified on the splendid follow-ups Indo-Jazz Fusions from 1967 and the possibly even better Indo-Jazz Fusions 2 from 1968. This release Raga's and Reflections which appeared at the same time was also highly worthy like Curried Jazz a year later in for the most part achieving those synergistic zonal results. Then there's the remarkable 1st Amancio D'Silva record Integration also from 1969 as is John Mayer's Indo Jazz Fusions Etudes on Sonet. Following that was yet another jewel of the highest caliber from 1969 with the Joe Harriott/Amancio D'Silva's Quartet-Hum Dono featuring the divine vocals of Norma Winstone. A couple of years after that we also have the classic Cosmic Eye-Dream Sequence record released on Regal Zonophone in 1971 with Amancio D'Silva that was another truly wonderful zonal experience. And also from 1971 the esoteric Radha Krishna by John Mayer (more on that one shortly so stay tuned!). Last worth mentioning is the Magic Carpet sitarist Clem Alford and his wonderful LP Mirror Image from 1974. Somewhat akin to all of these were two 1967 classics which emanated from the splendid MPS label Jazz Meets The World series: Jazz Meets India with the Dewan Motihar Trio/Irene Schweizer Trio & Jazz Meets Arabia-Noon In Tunisia led by George Gruntz, another rare visionary who could successfully fuse world musics from different genres. Personally I consider these two MPS jewels + most of the aforementioned UK artifacts to be great psychedelic zonal listening experiences whether one has altered their consciousness or not in advance.

Anyway this was/is 1 of 3 copies that I purchased while residing in WPB over a decade ago. I wish I would have gone after another 4th copy also from eBay at nearly the same time I won 2 of them because it may have been better condition vinyl than any of the 3 I have, none of which look or play Mint. In addition it may have given me some insight into what version of this LP is more common if there is such a thing. I'm referring to the other fact that all 3 of my copies of this LP have distinct variations in the hues/colors & resolution to the beautiful Indonesian nude woman that artfully graces the front. This non-flip-back copy appears to have a slight double image which is most apparent when viewing the yellow lettering where there's a green halo/line surrounding the yellow letters at the top. As usual these Saga records typically have some limited background surface noise regardless of how clean they visually look. Yet more always uncompromising experimental improvisational recordings by this/these fine folk/jazz/rock zone troopers. Once again this player/these players demonstrate a unique affinity and collective mindset for producing such telepathic improvisation. It doesn't always work well but when it does like here it's absolutely glorious! Worth the price of admission for those who are experimentally inclined and not uptight or inclined to become prejudicially divided (as all of us need to be unified worldwide to stave off the stifling New World Order and their tyrannical diabolical aspirations to enslave us all). Beware and please don't be too square!

It's difficult to know what the real value is of this record which is quite rare as well as being probably pretty unknown to many collectors but also coveted for the nude cover if stumbled upon. Then there's the pressing issues. One of my other copies is badly marked up with many small-medium scratches some of which click briefly a few times here & there. But remarkably overall it doesn't play that much differently or worse than this copy does which looks visually much better. Fidelity is strong regardless despite some intermittently audible background noise on all copies I have which makes it very difficult to determine which copy if any plays the best overall. Generally speaking the frequent thundering booming string bass along with flugelhorn, tablas and drums & sitar when present go a long way towards overwhelming most of the pressing/vinyl deficiencies.

Cover Condition: See photos. Laminated front VG+ non-flip-back (second run sleeve?) with some spine (1 1/4 inch slit that daylight shows through when viewed from the inside) & top edge-wear (3 3/4 inch ragged seam split in middle). Numerous creases near edges, some slight lifting of the lamination in spots adjacent to the spine and much soiling/yellowing/foxing to the white areas of the back. My 2 other copies both have laminated front flip-back covers that I reckon came first and have a slightly clearer front cover image but all have identical matrix #'s and are heavy vinyl. This cover has no text damage or obliteration of lettering on the spine like one of my others has.

Inner Sleeve: Original white paper OR label artists to which I may have added OR replaced with a sheer plastic liner Or poly-bag.

Record Condition: Nice EX with fairly limited hairlines/sleeve-wear that plays the same with relatively little in the way of any audible background noise throughout most of it when the music is relatively dynamic which mostly it is. This is excellent music here featured in an intimate musical setting providing some cosmic sounds that can send one into the stratosphere if they're ready, willing and able! So now it's your move!

Label Condition: Both=EX- OR VG+ with a few spindle marks which are harder to see on side 2 due to more raggedness, creases and irregularity to the label itself around the hole.

Matrix #'s: See photos.

PAYMENT is expected within 1 week unless you're confirmed bidding on other items. Combined shipping is available for multiple purchases up to a 2 week duration counting from the day of the first winning bid and/or confirmed purchase (if Buy it Now) made by any buyer. All orders will be shipped within 1 week of payment with records removed from sleeves (unless SS) to prevent any cover seams from splitting.
Please understand that all orders will be expertly boxed with care and shipped promptly, but I cannot and will not be held responsible for anything lost or damaged in transit. Consequently insurance is strongly recommended for all US winners. Payment is Pay Pal only for all foreign buyers and insurance is unavailable as it is too expensive. Once again, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in transit due to careless handling by the USPS or foreign postal services. Any/All buyers outside of the U.S. hereby agree to accept full responsibility for any loss or damage to/for any item sent, and furthermore accept that the seller, myself, will not be held liable or responsible for any refund or further recourse for recovery of the lost or damaged item(s). THANKYOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING & INTEREST AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

INVOICES: It is not my policy to send out invoices unless or until requested. This is because I don't want to rush people to pay in case they're wanting to potentially win another item or items and take full advantage of my combined shipping offer. I can't predict what else someone might want to bid on and I don't necessarily know from one week to the next what I'm going to list for sale from my collection. However if you don't want to wait then feel free to pay for your item(s) won at any time. All information is in my listings for the proper shipping costs depending upon where you are located. If you're not sure then please e-mail me for confirmation and I will gladly send you an invoice. Please do not abuse my grace period for paying within 2 weeks or just let me know if you're having a problem so we can work it out. I'm friendly and understanding and THANK-YOU FOR BEING CONSIDERATE!  However, I reserve the right to either re-list any item or offer it to the runner up bidder if you don't pay for it within the allotted time period and play by the rules. If that happens then I will not allow you to bid in future auctions of mine.

SHIPPING & HANDLING RATES:   Please note that as of today 26th February 2012, I've lowered the price of additional single LPs for media mail for U.S. customers to $1.50 instead of $2.00 for up to 6 albums total, per my attempts to keep it closer to actual costs of mailing. Remember that gate-folds usually weigh more so I've tried to establish a medium based on that.

RATES UPDATE-as of June 2013: Since the January 27th U.S. postal rates increases some foreign buyers have automatically been sending me $24.15 in checkout (despite my posted $19.00 rate) which I thank you all for as that's frequently been my exact cost to ship one LP double boxed. However when I've used 2 boxes recently (a regular size/weight box I use for all domestic shipping packed like it's ready to ship by itself inserted with bubble wrap taped surrounding it within a larger much heavier cardboard outer box) it's actually been costing me $26.00 more often than $24.15(regardless of gate-fold or not), thus my additions to the rates. Please remember again that I'm paying for all of my packing materials which are factored in accordingly as already noted below. It's your call!

1.Continental U.S.A.-1 LP is $10.40 for Priority + $1.25 each additional LP OR $4.00 for Media mail + additional single LPs are $1.50 each up to 6 total. More than 6 may require an adjustment.

2.Alaska, Hawaii & Canada are $13.00 for 1st LP  Airmail and $5.00 for each additional single album up to 5 total.

3.Mexico & South America are $15.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $4.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

4.Europe is $19.00 OR $27.00 (IF record sells for $100.00-150.00 or more AND BUYER OPTS FOR DOUBLE BOX PACKING including outer heavy cardboard over-sized box) for 1st LP Airmail and $5.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

5.Japan, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Korea, Russia and United Kingdom are $19.00 OR $27.00 (see above) for 1st LP Airmail and $5.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

6.Africa and Middle East are $20.00 OR 28.00 (see above) for 1st LP Airmail and $5.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

ATTENTION FOR ALL FOREIGN BUYERS: For a few international buyers lately who have purchased 6 or more LPs for combined shipping the above rates I list have been inadequate to cover my shipping costs because more than 4 additional LPs can push the weight to over 4 pounds into a higher shipping cost category. So for now please ask for a shipping quote if you're buying more than 4-5 LPs. Rest assured that as always I will strive to offer all customers the best rates possible to save them money and be as close to the actual shipping costs for their item(s) as possible within reason. Please understand that LPS, their covers (gate-fold or non-gate-fold), boxes and packing materials utilized can vary somewhat in their respective weights so with all of my posted rates I try and set averages that are appropriate to generally cover my costs and be close to yours also. Thanks once again for your understanding in my efforts to serve you all to the best of my ability.

PLEASE NOTE:  Rest assured that I only charge to basically cover my costs and all of my shipping supplies and handling time to pack are factored in & included already with no additional charges added on to pad the actual sales prices. I strive to satisfy and attain your 100% satisfaction as well as retain my 100% feedback rating!

All records are GUARANTEED original 1st pressings or 1ST YEAR ORIGINALS to the best of my knowledge UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.All records are from my own personal collection where they have been archived and handled with loving care.

MY PRESERVATION POLICY on many records that I revered was simple and I share it with you now so that you understand why you take virtually no risk buying from me providing the album was bought new and not used originally. When I'd buy a "new" album and it was something I liked a lot and still available (most of my new albums were purchased in the early-mid 1970's!) I'd initially play it between 15-25 times to become familiar with it and then sell it to a friend as a still EX+ well preserved nice copy. (Adding outer & inner plastic sleeves was standard procedure additionally limiting cover wear and/or hairline paper sleeve marks.) Then I'd buy another new copy and in some cases if a particular favorite then yet another, meaning that I only played the 2nd copy (now my 1st) 5-10 times and the 3rd (now my 2nd if I kept 2) once or twice, always initially taping or now in more recent years currently burning to disc 1 copy within the first couple of  plays thus significantly limiting play to this day on most of my lps. I did/do this with many single copy rarities as well so most play was/is on tapes or cd-rs. I bought a lot of CDs of favorite things also which further helped preserve my vinyl and limit play of much of it. Sometimes I also acquired rare British and European vinyl which I never saw imported in stores and sold new in the United States or Canada from contacts I established through mail correspondence during the 1970's. I developed contacts in England, France, Germany, Holland & Norway. Be aware that the MAJORITY of albums or occasionally 45's that I list ARE FREQUENTLY my ONLY COPIES so bid accordingly as you'll not likely see most of them listed by me again.

SO, MOST OF MY ALBUMS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT NEW, STILL ACCURATELY APPEAR VIRTUALLY NEW AND UNPLAYED, AND MOST WERE HONESTLY PLAYED NO MORE THAN 5-10 TIMES AND OFTEN ONLY TWICE OR THRICE AND ARE STILL NEAR MINT!! WHY TAKE THE RISK & HASSLE WITH RETURNS EVEN IF THEY"RE ACCEPTED. SHOP HERE AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT AND DISAPPOINTMENT FROM YOUR FUTURE E-BAY VINYL TRANSACTIONS NOW!
