Description

The Gun 1968 CBS 63552 mono LP psych VG++/VG+ + Race With Devil 7" ULTRA RARE

Extremely hard to find 1968 psychedelia/prog/hard rock album from The Gun in original sleeve.

Original orange labels, A1/B1 matrices.

Sleeve is in Very Good ++ condition with only a worn spine as any major flaw. Superb cover art by acclaimed artist Roger Dean, who went on to design sleeves for Yes, Uriah Heep, Osibisa, Greenslade and many more 70s rock acts.

Labels are in Excellent condition - no writing of any kind, just a little wear on Side 2 around the spindle hole.

Vinyl has hairlines and a couple of more noticeable scratches on Side 2, but the audio quality is at least Very Good + and really closer to Excellent. Occasional crackle and the odd tic particularly on Side 2, but no skips, jumps or major disturbance to your listening pleasure.

Side 1: Race with the devil (3:40), The sad saga of the boy and the bee (4:15), Rupert's travels (2:30), Yellow cab man (4:50), It won't be long (heartbeat) (4:30).
Side 2: Sunshine (3:30), Rat race (5:30), Take off (12:30).

Cracking copy of this very rare album, featuring some top notch hard rock guitar work.

I'm also throwing in a copy of the band's 1968 chart hit Race With The Devil/Sunshine, in original company CBS sleeve and in VG condition.

Lead guitarist Adrian Curtis changed his name to Adrian Gurvitz (Curtis had been his middle name) and went on to find significant success with Baker-Gurvitz Army, and solo chart success with his song Classic, as well as writing hits for a number of other artists.
