The Free Design – Kites Are Fun Vinyl LP (Project 3/Calendar Records/Festival Records re-issue. 1967 debut album release by The Free Design, a New York based vocal group in the style of sunshine or baroque pop with complex harmonies, jazz-like chord progressions and off-beat time signatures. The Free Design were part of the renowned Enoch Light Project 3 recording house with "master recorded on 35mm magnetic film". Although they did not achieve great success at the time, The Free Design proved to be very influential on later artists such as Beck, Stereolab, Cornelius and Pizzicato Five. Housed in picture sleeve with group bio and Project 3 sound definition notes. Sleeve in Near Mint Condition. The record has been played enough that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably and may have pops and skips. The sleeve may suffer from scuffs, spine splits, ring wear and/or discolouration.
