The Faces, First Step. This is the original UK stereo issue of their first album recorded in December 1968 and released in February 1970. The E. J. Day Group Ltd matt cover is in EX Condition, the plain company inner is in VG+ Condition and the record is in EX+ Condition. Description
This is the original 1970 UK issue with the rough orange Warner Bros labels and the earliest A-2 B-2 matrices, with the 1-O/1-E stampers of the earliest 1st pressings.
The first Faces album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios in December 1969 and released in February 1970. The band had formed a couple of months before the recording from the remains of the Small faces and the Jeff Beck Group. In the USA Warners insisted on keeping the name the Small Faces, but the band got thier way in the UK being known as the Faces. The band was often compared to Humble Pie and acting as the backing musicians for Rod Stewart's solo work didn't help matters. Eventually Ronnie Lane would leave in 1973 and by 1975 the band had split up after Ronnie Wood joined the Rolling Stones.
The E. J. Day Group matt sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some storage rubbing on the rear sleeve, with a couple of small creases on the front cover. The inner gatefold has some light storage rubbing. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain inner is intact, with some discolouration and is in VG+ condition.
The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings.
The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief, low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & lively listen.

All Airmail is limited to 5 or 6 lp's due to 2kg weight restrictions.
