Description
The Elgins 'Darling Baby' LP, Motown STML 11081 (Stereo).
Because The Elgins enjoyed only limited success, this record has become something of a rarity amongst the '60s Motown catalogue. The Record Collector Guide lists a mint value at £90. This copy is in Very Good visual condition, with just a single small (1cm long), light scratch/scuff on Side two across the end of band 2 and the beginning of band 3, which does not sound. No other discernible damage to the playing surfaces, just a very few light spindle marks around the centre hole, good sheen to the record. Sleeve is clean and untorn, just one or two small light creases, and includes the original EMI inner sleeve for the UK version of the album.
This record is a must for any serious Motown/'60s soul collector, and includes some unique versions of classic Holland-Dozier-Holland titles. This album has never been re-released in its original form on CD, only as a compromise pairing with an album by the Monitors or as tracks on compilations.
