Information on "The Early Beatles" (US-only release)
        Virtually, a re-release of the band's first U.K. album Please Please Me, The Early Beatles, was a US-only release featuring 12 of the 14 songs from Please Please Me, omitting I Saw Her Standing There and Misery. Capitol issued the album after winning rights to Please Please Me from Vee Jay Records. However, they omitted Misery and There's A Place , which were later issued on the 1980 Rarities album.

Comment      You are bidding on a very rare copy of Beatles' "The Early Beatles" album, issued  by Capitol on March 22, 1965. The album was re-issued in 1988, switching numbers to C1-90445. The original was released under ST 2309 (stereo), and T 2309 (mono). This particular record  is a first pressing, its cover still sealed.

   How do I know it's a first press? First of all: you never really know. I bought the record from a Germany-stationed U.S. Marine, closest friend to my Dad, who himself served the Marine Corps. This guy bought the record in the Mid-80s in a "Crazy Eddie" record store, located in the New York area. He then got a certificate; the store "retrieved" the record directly from a Capitol-auction.
   However, there's plenty of ways to "identify" a record's age and orign. The cover, for instance, was never again reproduced on re-issues, its design differs - sometimes just slightly - from the original (i.e. a ball-like dot between the Capitol-sign and photo below on the upper side of cover-front, a re-modeled FDS-sign on upper right corner of the cover's back, saying "also available in regular monophonic", or the - exact - colors of printed letters).
    Many of the The Early Beatles' "later pressings" (even in the 60s) came with Long Tall Sally as song# 6 on Side 2. The original did not.
    And there's the cut-out hole (photo# 5 below): only the early pressings carry a cut-out hole inside the protection cover instead of a single- or double-folded shrink. Very early pressings have it on the front, not on the cover's reverse side. One can finally consult a Goldmine-Catalog (probably not the current edition) to get confirmation.

   If you're serious about "scanning for" Beatles collectibles, this absolutely rare item is kind of "must-have" - well, I know: A real BeatleManian must have them all anyway...

  Not "Sorry", but "Take care good, old disc" seems to be the hardest word; however: Good Luck!
