Description

An original 1st issue of OOTN on the UK Asylum label from 1975. Matrix A2/B2. White labels as you should find on the 1st issue of this title. The vinyl comes housed in an original textured and embossed cover which is top-loading [all indicative of 1st issue]. You will note that when this title 1st hit the record shops the covers did not have catalogue numbers - and were stickered [as this one is]. On the rear the track listing is difficult to make out against the background - again indicative of an early iteration before they made the text stand out better. Proper 1st issues should not mention the re-press date at the foot of the rear cover. 1st issues [as this one does] mention '1975' on the bottom edge spine. We also have the original shaped inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could make out a couple of light marks, and a couple of superficial trails - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. By and large a clean player - better than many examples. When on song it plays blindingly well. Expect just a touch of light static in a couple of spots per side. First half of 'Hollywood Waltz' and the quiet banjo moments on 'Sorcerer' (with a couple of clicks). A few isolated crackles in Lyin' Eyes and TITTL - but otherwise plays great. To be honest - most copies will have some sort of issue in these areas. Copies that play these areas clean are VERY few and far between. Overall a thorough decent rendition.
Cover (Ex) Always loved this title's cover so well worth tracking out a true 1st and getting in decent nick. This one looks very smart indeed. The front looks truly awesome with hardly a sign of wear on that embossed image. Ditto the rear - pretty much faultless. Edge wear is extremely limited for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The bottom spine is in great order. Text 90% legible with just some very light wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) In superb condition. No splits. Unworn openings.
