Hotel California is the fifth studio album by the American rock band. It was released in December 1976 on Asylum Records. First album featuring guitarist Joe Walsh. It was an immediate critical and commercial success topping the US Top 200 Albums chart. At the 20th Grammy Awards the title track won Record Of The Year and Best Vocal Arrangement for ‘New Kid In Town’ but lost as Album Of The Year to Fleetwood Mac’s ‘ Rumours’. Hotel Xalifornia is certified as one of the best selling albums of all time. It has sold over 32 million units worldwide, second to their own “Greatest Hits Volume 1 (1971-75).
