Description
The Doors- Strange Days- Mono EKL 4014- VG+ Vinyl LP Record.
(Ultra Rare Mono)
Elektra Records # EKL-4014, mono, original U.S. pressing, from 1967. Ultra clean mono pressing. The cover is a tad worn (with a light crease to the front top left corner and the front bottom right cover). "EKL-4014" and "mono" are printed in the upper left corner (see photo). The spine has EKS-74014 printed on it. Overall the cover is in better than VG and much closer to VG+ condition, with no split seams, no cut-outs, no writing, and very slight ringwear. The edges have slight edgewear and the spine is beautiful with only light overall wear. The vinyl is in VG+ condition with light spindle marks, beautiful luster, some very minimal scuffing, and plays VG++ (with slight noise only in a couple places; mostly in between songs). There are absolutely no pops or skips. The labels are beautiful; VG++ to Near Mint-. The original inner sleeve is in Near VG+ condition with light creasing to two corners and some moderate wear to 3 parts of the opening (not as bad as it sounds; very small- see photo) and no splits whatsoever. Goldmine lists this LP at $600 in Near Mint condition and $300 in this condition. I am starting this auction at $99 (there is another copy on auction in comparable condition w/ a starting bid of $125).I also have copies of LA Woman ($100) and Strange Days (stereo) in Near Mint condition and will combine shipping if you are interested.
NOTE: THE MONO MIX IS CELEBRATED FOR ITS ALTERNATE MIX FROM THE STEREO VERSION. MANY CONSIDER THE MONO MIX TO BE SUPERIOR TO THE STEREO VERSION. AS OF 1968, MONO PRESSINGS WERE ABANDONED INDUSTRY WIDE FOR STEREO RECORDINGS.

- No cut-out corners
- No saw-marks or indents
- No holes
- No writing
- No stamps
- No peel-off marks
- No stains
- No mold or mildew spots
- No water damage
- No warping
- No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover
- No bar codes
This record is from the collection of a DJ from the 1960's and 1970's. The records were stored in a smoke-free environment and they were placed on hard shelves and were always stored vertically.
