Description

An original Mono 1st press on UK Elektra from 1968. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut. The labels do not exhibit the new Doors logo that would appear on all copies from just a matter of months later. The original mono labels exhibit the typo error 'My Eyes Have See You in My Mind'. The vinyl comes housed in an original fully laminated 1st issue mono cover. Also included is the official bespoke lyric inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In great shape despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks, and a couple of very superficial trails - nothing troublesome or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. These early copies really do have a fantastic sound quality to them. Love it! Don't expect it to play perfectly quietly though. In some of the lower key tracks you're going to notice a bit of background static in places. But it's mostly relatively "back in the mix". One deviation is in the opening moments of  'My Eyes Have See You' - I'm getting a few clicks which peter out fairly quickly. The only tracks I picked out an elevated level of interference was in 'I Can't See Your Face In My Mind' & 'The Music's Over'. These tracks are sub-par and crackle is noticeable - please be aware. A great player which allow you to fully appreciate this masterpiece.
Cover (Vg+) Very well preserved and looking better than many examples by this point in time. A couple of scuff marks on the front and a couple of thumbnail creases - but otherwise in very nice condition. The rear looks great with just a crease down in the bottom right corner. Edge wear is pretty limited. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains great rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) No splits. But lightly aged. Pretty decent all round condition.
