Description
I am selling some items like Records, CD's, DVD's, comics, trading cards and other collectibles. I have been collecting and have for over 15 Years of experience. So I have some experience and grading and selling. This week I will be listing some 1960's, 1970's, & 1980's rock vintage vinyls all original unless noted. Up for bid is a rare hard find 45 Flexi HP-5 of The Doors that contains there first hit Singles Light My Fire and Break on Through.
Tracklist:
Side A:
Light My Fire (Edit Version)
Side B:
Break On Through (The Other Side)
Cover; (EX) Vinyl; (M-)
This Flexi disc are smaller then you average 45 singles this a 4 inch single that are very delicate thin as paper. This Flexi was released as part of a mail in offer when you purchased Head and Shoulders or Gleem and you will get a Flexi single from the artist you picked for free. It was released in 1968, released from a label Hip-Pocket Records by Philco Ford Corporation an exclusive arrangement with Elektra Records.
The cover is complete and has little wear as it still looks mint and disc has no scratches and is new but it does have 2 small scuffs due to being delicate. I got this at a state sale the seller explain to me that the reason why it had those scuffs is due to it being stored and close for a long time. The scuffs due not effect play both sides when you play it as it does all the way with no skips just the minimal noise at the beginning before the song begins. Also I played it sounds like there both in mono sound not in stereo because Light My Fire the edit version was release only in mono so Break On Through has to be in mono not in stereo. As in the record it's not printed and the back of the sleeve there in no mention in what sound it is Stereo, Mono?, but it says only to play the record in a phonograph player.
This doors single especially since it contains Break On Through on side 2 makes it a rare find complete with the cover. Since it was released limited as a single due to not getting airplay from radio stations back in 1967 when it was released, but became a favorite in live in concert.
Other then that its a great small unique hard to find record and very sought after I believe.I will start the bid off low, get while you can perfect for a hard core doors fan, or for you collection of records.
This is my record grading standards I use, if you don't agree let me know and I will change it or give me your opinion. If you don't like my grading system then do not bid or think before bidding. When you bid like I said bid with confidence.
RECORD GRADING GUIDELINES FOR VINYL RECORDS:
Near Mint (NM): A nearly perfect record. No obvious signs of wear, though there may be very slight imperfections inherent in the vinyl pressing.

Very Good Plus (VG+): Record shows some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps not affecting the sound are OK. Label may have some ring wear or discoloration.
Very Good (VG): Record may have some light scratches and scuffs that may affect the sound especially in softer passages of the record, but will not overpower the music. There will be no skips in the record.
Very Good Minus (VG-): Record will have scratches and scuffs that will affect the sound. The noise will not detract from enjoying the record. Very old records with significant wear will be listed under this classification. There will be no skips in the record.
