Description
Released in the Spring of 1971, 'LA Woman' was The Doors' 6th studio album and the last one Morrison recorded with the band before he left for Paris, France.... and we all know what happens later. Or do we?
Musically, it is a very strong album and one that would surprise even their harshest critics. It's looser, bluesier, and more bare-bones than anything the band had previously released.
The copy I am offering is a very first Canadian pressing released in May of 1971.....some of the distinctive features include....labels that are deep-grooved and intensely colored, much heavier vinyl than later pressings, thicker boards than usual for the Lp jacket. And, most importantly....SUPERB and DETAILED audio. Later Canadian pressings would have none of these features.
Cover: VG+(+) .....No die-cut "window" design were made for the Canadian release of this album. However, only in Canada were the covers for the first pressings of 'LA Woman' constructed with heavier than usual card stock. I've tried to show just how robustly made these early jackets were through some of the pictures in this listing....probably the reason why it has survived all these years with only minor corner and edge wear.
Record: VG(+) ~ Exc......A somewhat difficult record to grade. Actually, only 2 or 3 tracks grade VG due to some light ticks and some background during the music The majority of the audio grades Excellent and even higher on a few tracks. Superb audio and definition...especially in the guitars and percussion. A hard pressing to find in ANY condition.
