The Doors 'Absolutely Live' was first released in July 1970 (EKS-9002) and most who hear it for the first time are immediately surprised at how INCREDIBLE this band sounded live.  The rush and wall of sound was all the more impressive because The Doors played without a dedicated bass player. However, the person who in my opinion is as responsible for the magic heard on this album was their producer, Paul Rothchild.  He had the unenviable task of sorting through the many hours of live tapes and choosing which versions of the songs sounded best.  Moreover, because Morrison was rather erratic and inconsistent during most performances, Rothchild concluded that in order to give the listener a "seamless" audio experience, he would have to seriously edit the material and join songs together in a totally different way.  In other words, some songs were patched together from 3 different live venues!  The vast majority of listeners can not distinguish where the splices occur;  which speaks to the amazing skill of Paul Rothchild.  
The copy I am offering is a White Label (DJ) Promo and among the VERY FIRST pressings of this record.  In addition, the matrix numbers and letters confirm that it was pressed at the Monarch pressing plant in Los Angeles, California,  where the band was from.  These particular copies rarely come up for sale and even rarer still, found in Near Mint condition......like finding a needle in a haystack.  This copy is offered for all those searching for that FINAL UPGRADE of The Doors 'Absolutely Live'.....the sound is flawless, clear, bold, and distortion-free.  I'm sure it will be a very long time before another copy like this comes up for sale on eBay again. 
Condition of Gatefold Jacket: Excellent (+) .......constructed with fairly thick and sturdy boards.... some ring wear is visible to front and back but aside from this there is hardly anything to fault. Colors are still vivid and bold....The spine is near-perfect and interestingly, slightly wider than usual.  Elektra Records "Promo" sticker afixed to the front.

Condition of Records: Near Mint.....truly remarkable.....beautiful shine to all 4 sides.....they almost look unplayed.   Angled under strong light, one sees some barely noticeable sleeve removal marks and some faint hairlines.  The white labels are pristine showing no spindle marks whatsoever.  As mentioned previously, the audio is superb and a cleaner copy you will not find.

The above matrix numbers are all hand-etched except for the letters, "MR", which are stamped and encircled.
