Description
You are bidding on my original Dead Kennedys Frankenchrist vinyl LP. I bought this new back in the 1980's in high school before it was banned. This record is in awesome and excellent condition. The only reason I would not call it in mint condition is because it is opened. So, I will classify the record as awesome and excellent. There are no scratches whatsoever.
This is issued on Alternative Tentacles Records with Virus 45 being the catalog number.
The cover, sleeves, poster, hype sticker and insert are all in awesome and excellent condition as well. Keep in mind that they are 40 years old.
This album is complete with everything that you see in the main picture. It has the explicit and banned poster, insert, paper sleeve and also the black plastic sleeve. The hype sticker is also present that was saved from the cellophane wrapping. Also included is the article that I cut out of the newspaper promoting the album at the time.
The poster has never been displayed and kept folded within the album cover. I only photographed the back because obviously Ebay is not going to allow the front of the picture to be shown. There was no way I could have ever displayed this poster as a teenager in my bedroom anyway.
Back in the day, this record was sacred. I recorded the record to a cassette tape back then after only playing the record once to do so.

The following was pulled from the internet for reference purposes only:
Initial copies included a poster of "Work 219: Landscape XX" (also known as "Penis Landscape") by Swiss artist HR Giger and a sticker on the shrink-wrap with the track list and a (sarcastic) warning note. An Alternative Tentacles catalog insert was also included.
The ensuing controversy resulted in the poster being removed from later copies. These included a poster order form / PMRC info insert, and the sticker was stamped "Banned" in red. Some later copies still included the poster.
This version's identifying points include:
- dark chocolate red AT label (vs repress versions' bright burgundy).
- "45" on AT label in a small font.
- rounded upper corners on inner sleeve.
- No "Made in Canada" on inner sleeve
